XA & The Lions Den

Were any XA funds funneled to DS? Questions I'd Like To Ask XA/Church Leadership

To whomever may be interviewed in any investigation:  Ask to see if any Chi Alpha money (much of it donations from students) was funneled to DS.  Seeing that DS couldn't officially support raise through AG US Missions, were any of the XA chapters providing him support?  Was he paid for any of his appearances he made within the XA network?  Has anyone seen any of the XA financial statements?

This has been my question as well. How did Savala make his money? Who was he getting funding from if he was an “official yet unofficial” part of XA/AG?
 
I find it hard to believe that people just sent him checks straight to his name. Supporting XA and AG missionaries goes through their organization websites and giving platforms. 

There must be a paper or electronic trail somewhere, we just need to follow the money.

As stated in other threads, much of the problem is how much was dealt with in cash. Those of us who rented from him paid in cash as I recall. I was aware and part of the practice of hiding money in his books. If there is ever a formal investigation, I imagine then we would have some solid answers.

I wonder if Eli Stewart was writing checks to him from Chi Alpha College Station funds.

@theundaunted This was something small group leaders who took you to his house would encourage you to do. Daniel never directly requested it, but he would joke whenever he was short on money he would pray and start opening books and find cash.

I remember this also. I was in SHSU XA from 2001-2010 and it was seen as a way to “bless” Daniel since he never had a lot of money to spare. I always felt it was implied bc taking care of his mother who was ill was expensive. 

not so sure that’s the case now… I think he couldn’t be officially on staff anywhere even in the 2000s.

The money trail will come much later. The current focus is finding people who were hurt by Daniel and encouraging them to tell the authorities. All you guys are so incredible for asking these type of questions. These should have been asked years ago by leadership.
